PEMBROKE and LEOMINSTER, MA, ISSUED OCTOBER 31, 2016… Marie Peeler, founder and principal of Peeler Associates, an executive coaching and leadership development firm working with individuals and organizations to increase their leadership effectiveness, will present the workshop, “Successful Leadership through Personal Mastery,” at the Massachusetts Higher Education Consortium (MHEC) Quarterly Member Meeting, to be held Friday, November 4, in Leominster, Mass.
In this lively and interactive workshop, leaders will begin to cultivate personal mastery by learning to recognize the beliefs and behaviors that facilitate leadership greatness as well as those that can sabotage even the most well-meaning leader’s efforts. As leaders see how their habitual ways of thinking drive their behavior and, ultimately, their success, they will learn the one thing that they can begin to do today to increase their leadership effectiveness.
The MHEC is New England’s premier group purchasing consortium, formed in 1977 under direction of then-governor Michael Dukakis. The initial membership of the MHEC was comprised of Massachusetts public institutions of higher education as well as a few private colleges, with the goal to provide and manage contracts for goods and services using group-buying best practices for its member institutions. Membership is now available to not-for-profit public and private institutions of higher education; municipalities including elementary and secondary schools; technical, vocational and charter schools; and other educational organizations throughout New England.
“Effective leadership is important in any organization,” said Peeler. “Sometimes leadership training is secondary in nonprofit and educational institutions, but given the import of their missions, some could argue it’s even more critical that we talk and learn about how to be a better leader in these organizations, and give good leaders the tools to be great. I look forward to discussing these issues and taking part in a thoughtful exchange with participants.”
