PEMBROKE, MA, ISSUED SEPTEMBER 21, 2015… Peeler Associates, an executive coaching and leadership development firm working with individuals and organizations to increase their leadership effectiveness, today announced that Marie Peeler, CEO, recently became certified in the Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i 2.0®) and the Emotional Quotient 360 (EQ360®) emotional intelligence assessments. These assessments look at 15 different elements of emotional intelligence in the areas of decision-making, stress management, self-perception, self-expression, and interpersonal, and are important tools for both employee development and selection.
Emotional intelligence, which the publisher, MHS Assessments, defines as “a set of emotional and social skills that influence the way we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain social relationships, cope with challenges, and use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way,” has been shown to be even more relevant than IQ in terms of leadership success and a key indicator of human performance and development potential.
Part of what makes work in this area so important is that emotional intelligence is not a fixed thing. With the help of these assessments, individuals can target specific areas for development and actually increase their emotional intelligence over time.
